Evaluasi Ekstrak Etanol Daun Ketepeng Cina (Cassia alata) Sebagai Obat Pencahar Pada Tikus Putih Galur Sprague-Dawley: Uji In Vivo

Abstract

Obat pencahar merupakan kelompok obat untuk memperlancar defekasi yang digunakan untuk mengatasi konstipasi ataupun pengosongan usus sebelum proses pembedahan dan kolonoskopi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi ekstrak etanol daun ketepeng cina (Cassia alata) pada kondisi pencernaan normal tikus putih Sprague-Dawley. Metode yang dilakukan mencakup pengukuran parameter feses dan rasio transit gastrointestinal. Pengujian evaluasi ekstrak etanol daun ketepeng cina (EDKC) dilakukan secara in vivo yang dilakukan pada lima kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol normal, kontrol positif (bisacodyl), dan tiga kelompok dosis (50,100, dan 200 mg/kgBB) dengan parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah feses, bobot feses, kadar air feses, dan motilitas usus. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa dosis 50–200 mg/kgBB pada tikus dengan pencernaan normal belum secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan jumlah dan bobot feses, kadar air feses serta motilitas usus.

Laxatives are a group of drugs to facilitate defecation that are used to treat constipation or empty the intestines before surgery and colonoscopy. This study aims to evaluate the ethanol extract of candle bush (Cassia alata) leaves on normal digestive conditions of Sprague-Dawley white rats. Methods included measurement of fecal parameters and gastrointestinal transit ratio. The evaluate test of laxatives from candle bush leaf ethanolic extract (EDKC) was carried out by in vivo test in five treatment groups, there are normal control, positive control (bisacodyl), and three dose groups (50, 100, and 200 mg/kgBW) with total count of feces and stool weight, fecal water content, and intestinal motility as the parameter observed. The evaluation results showed that doses of 50–200 mg/kgBW in rats with normal digestion were not significantly able to increase the total count and weight of feces, fecal water content, and intestinal.
