dc.description.abstractInseminasi Buatan (IB) merupakan teknologi reproduksi yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan perbaikan mutu genetik ternak, keberhasilan program IB bergantung pada kualitas semen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan informasi dan mengidentifikasi kualitas semen terbaik pada sapi Simmental dan sapi Limousin. Penelitian proyek akhir dilaksanakan di Balai Inseminasi Buatan Jawa Tengah menggunakan 6 ekor sapi Simmental dan 6 ekor sapi Limousin dengan 8 kali proses penampungan selama 1 bulan. Semen dilakukan pemeriksaan makroskopis dan mikroskopis, diawali dari pemeriksaan semen segar, semen cair, dan semen beku. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan uji Mann Whitney dan kualitatif secara deskriptif. Hasil dari pengujian dengan nilai kepercayaan >0,05 menunjukan warna, viskositas, volume, pH, motilitas semen segar, motilitas semen cair, dan motilitas semen beku tidak berbeda nyata, sedangkan konsentrasi semen segar <0,05 menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata. Perbedaan nyata tersebut diduga karena adanya faktor perbedaan bobot badan yang akan memengaruhi besarnya lingkar skrotum sehingga konsentrasi meningkat.-
dc.description.abstractArtificial Insemination (AI) is a reproductive technology used to improve the genetic quality of livestock, the success of the AI program depends on the quality of semen. The purpose of this study was to obtain information and identify the best semen quality in Simmental and Limousin cattle. This final project research was conducted at the Central Java Artificial Insemination Center using 6 Simmental cattle and 6 Limousin cattle with 8 storage processes for 1 month. Semen was examined macroscopically and microscopically, starting from the examination of fresh semen, liquid semen, and frozen semen. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively using the Mann Whitney test and qualitative descriptively. The test results with a confidence value of >0.05 indicate that the color, viscosity, volume, pH, fresh semen motility, liquid semen motility, and frozen semen motility are not significantly different, while the fresh semen concentration <0.05 shows a significant difference. The significant difference is thought to be due to differences in body weight which will affect the size of the scrotum circumference so that its concentration increases.-
