Mangrove ecosystems play an important role in providing ecosystem services and are utilized by small-scale fishermen in the coastal village of Ketapang, but understanding of their contribution to small-scale fisheries remains limited. This study aims to identify the sub-systems of the Social-Ecological System (SES) of small-scale fisheries based on mangrove ecosystems, map and measure the connectivity of the SES, and formulate management strategies. Data collection was conducted from October to November 2024 in Ketapang Village, Mauk District, Tangerang Regency. The research methods included water quality measurements, identification of mangrove species and density measurements, and interviews with fishermen, aquaculture farmers, and collectors to obtain data on fishery resources and the socio-economic conditions of fishermen. The results indicate that the mangrove ecosystem (RS) can directly influence fish resource abundance (RU). Resource users (RA) have a strong relationship with fish resource abundance and sustainability (RU). Fishing and aquaculture activities around the coastal mangroves of Ketapang Village are regulated by the government (RG) through established regulations. Management strategies for mangroves and small-scale fisheries along the coast of Ketapang Village can be implemented by enhancing good cooperation between RG (Resources Governance) and RA (Resources Actors) to achieve the sustainability of fishery resources. This study is expected to serve as input for local governments in formulating optimal policies for the management of mangrove ecosystems and small-scale fisheries. |
