dc.description.abstractThis article introduces species that exist around us and their potential or actual utilisation by humans. One type of plant that can be utilised is Pare (Momordica charantia). It is a climbing plant originating from tropical Asia, especially western India (Assam and Burma). Widely planted by people for the production of fruit, vegetables and traditional medicine. Pare (Momordica charantia) has pharmaceutical potential such as antidiabetic, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. Ethanol extract of bitter melon fruit contains flavonoid compounds, saponins, polyphenols, vitamins A, B and C, amino acids, calcium, phosphorus and beta carotene. Pare (Momordica charantia) can be used to treat digestive disorders, jaundice, malaria, as an energy booster, laxative, emetic, rheumatism, gout, liver disease, lymph disease, lower blood sugar levels, fever, relieve flatulence, treat burns, etc.id
