The textile industry often uses synthetic dyes that are not fully biodegradable and can pollute the environment. This has prompted attention to alternative natural dyes. This study investigated fabrics dyed with noni root (Morinda citrifolia) and indigo leaves (Indigofera tinctoria) extracts, focusing on antimicrobial properties, color stability, and mechanical properties of the fabrics. The study included the stages of material extraction, dyeing with the addition of 0,2 g/mL alum mordant, washing test, extract and fabric characterization. The yield of noni root and indigo leaves extracts were 33% and 40% with high phenolic and flavonoid content, which have an antioxidant, antimicrobial, and UV protective properties. Fabrics dyed with these extracts showed antibacterial activity, especially against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, although the effect decreased after washing. The dyed fabrics had lower mechanical strength than the undyed ones. Noni extract dyed showing a stronger antibacterial effect than nila leaves extracts.
