| Abstract: | Pemanfaatan limbah pertanian dalam bentuk abu sekam padi yang mengandung silika masih jarang dilakukan. Utilization of agricultural waste such as rice husk ash containing silica is still rarely done. One way to utilize rice husk ash is by synthesizing rice husk ash using the hydrothermal method with variations in NaOH concentrations of 1N, 2N, and 3N at a temperature of 200°C for 4 hours. After that, characterization was carried out using XRD, PSA, and LCR meters to determine the properties of the structure, size, and electrical conductivity. The results of the XRD test showed that samples with variations in concentrations of 2N and 3N had a crystal structure. Increasing the concentration of NaOH resulted in an average particle size that tended to increase and then decreased at the highest NaOH concentration of 3N and a less homogeneous particle size distribution due to agglomeration. Conductivity testing showed that the resulting silica tended to experience increased conductivity values, especially at medium to high frequencies. This study indicates that the concentration of NaOH and the hydrothermal process have important roles in determining the final characteristics of silica from rice husk ash. |
