| Abstract: | Bunga jengger ayam (Celosia cristata L.) merupakan tanaman tropis Asia
ayam.
4m-1m. Heatmap mempermudah identifikasi pola korelasi antar variabel. Cockscomb flower (Celosia cristata L.) is a tropical Asian plant rich in phenolic and flavonoid compounds with high antioxidant potential. This study aimed to select the best genotype based on total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and antioxidant activity from ethanol extracts. Superior genotype selection enhances antioxidant and medicinal potential. Fourteen genotypes of cockscomb flower were extracted using 96% ethanol with the Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) method, followed by TPC analysis with Folin-Ciocalteu and TFC with aluminum chloride. Results showed that the highest TPC, TFC, and FRAP values were found in the same genotype, 3-4m-1m, while the highest DPPH antioxidant activity was observed in genotype 3-4m-4m. Statistical tests confirmed significant differences among samples, with strong correlations among TPC, TFC, and FRAP, and weak correlations with DPPH. Genotype 3-4m 1m was identified as the best across all tests. The heatmap facilitated identification of correlation patterns among variables. |
