Giant gourami is one of the main freshwater aquaculture commodities in Indonesia, with high economic value and continuously increasing demand. A major issue in gourami aquaculture is the low egg hatching rate, which affects fry availability. One alternative solution is the use of herbal materials, such as ketapang leaves. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness and optimal dose of ketapang leaf extract on the hatching rate of giant gourami eggs. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications, namely EK0 as control, EK1 a dose of 1,5 mL/L, EK2 a dose of 2,0 mL/L, and EK3 a dose of 2,5 mL/L. The extract was applied for 10 days. The results showed that treatments EK2 and EK3 produced the best outcomes in terms of hatching rate 81,67–85,00% and larval survival rate 95,96–96,08%. The application of ketapang leaf extract at a dose of 2,0–2,5 mL/L had an optimal effect on the hatching success and larval survival of giant gourami.-
