Abstract: Kematian adalah kepastian yang tidak dapat diprediksi dan seringkali menimbulkan kecemasan kematian (death anxiety) pada dewasa madya. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat kecemasan ini adalah keyakinan terhadap kehidupan setelah kematian (belief in afterlife). Dalam Islam, keyakinan ini berkaitan erat dengan religiusitas seseorang yang dapat menjadi motivasi bagi individu untuk menjalani kehidupan dengan lebih baik, termasuk dalam perilaku berdonasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh belief in afterlife terhadap donation behavior dewasa madya muslim dengan pendekatan Theory of Planned Behavior. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif dan SEM-PLS. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dari 300 responden dewasa madya muslim di Jawa Barat. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data menggunakan metode SEM-PLS, ditemukan bahwa variabel attitude toward donation behavior dan religiusitas tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap intention to donate. Sementara itu, variabel subjective norm dan perceived behavioral control memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap intention to donate. Variabel religiusitas berpengaruh signifikan terhadap belief in afterlife. Variabel belief in afterlife dan intention to donate berpengaruh signifikan terhadap donation behavior.
Death is an unpredictable certainty and often causes death anxiety in middle adulthood. One of the factors that influence this level of anxiety is belief in afterlife. In Islam, this belief is closely related to one's religiosity which can be a motivation for individuals to live life better, including in donation behavior. This study aims to analyze the effect of belief in afterlife on muslim middle adult toward donation behavior using the Theory of Planned Behavior approach. The methods used in this research are descriptive statistics and SEM-PLS. This research uses primary data from 300 muslim middle adult respondents in West Java. Based on the results of data processing using the SEM-PLS method, it was found that the variables of attitude toward donation behavior and religiosity had no significant effect on intention to donate. Meanwhile, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control variables have a significant influence on intention to donate. The religiosity variable has a significant effect on belief in afterlife. The variable belief in afterlife and intention to donate has a significant effect on donation behavior.
