| Abstract: | Penggunaan Antibiotic Growth Promotors meninggalkan residu antibiotik pada produk ternak yang dapat membahayakan kesehatan manusia, sehingga perlu alternatif pengganti seperti minyak esensial sereh (Cymbopogon nardus) dan Selenium organik. The use of Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs), which can leave antibiotic residues harmful to human health, can be addressed with citronella essential oil (Cymbopogon nardus) and organic selenium as alternatives. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of adding citronella oil and selenium at different concentrations in feed on blood profiles and leukocyte differentiation in broiler chickens. A factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used, consisting of two levels of selenium supplementation (0 ppm, 0,4 ppm) and three levels of citronella essential oil supplementation (0 mL kg-1, 2 mL kg-1, 4 mL kg-1). The results showed that citronella essential oil significantly (P<0.05) reduced leukocyte levels. There was a significant interaction (P<0.05) affecting hematocrit levels. However, the combination of citronella essential oil and selenium did not significantly (P>0.05) affect leukocyte differentiation. In conclusion, the administration of 4 mL kg-1 of citronella essential oil reduced leukocyte levels, while 2 mL kg-1 of citronella essential oil combined with 0,4 ppm selenium lowered hematocrit levels. |
