Kata kunci: inseminasi buatan, kerbau, kinematika, motilitas, sperm Sperm quality is a critical factor determining the success of artificial insemination in livestock breeding programs. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between sperm quality and kinematic attributes in Murrah and Silangit buffalo sperm using Computer-Assisted Sperm Analysis (CASA). Samples were obtained from three bulls of each breed, collected over three different batches. The evaluated sperm quality parameters included motility, viability, abnormalities, and plasma membrane integrity, while the kinematic analysis focused on movement speeds (VAP, VSL, VCL) and path distances (DAP, DSL, DCL) using a nested design, which were subsequently correlated using Pearson Correlation. The results revealed that sperm motility and viability were significantly positively correlated with key kinematic parameters, supporting enhanced fertilization potential. Conversely, higher sperm abnormalities were negatively associated with movement efficiency. These findings can serve as a basis for selecting superior bulls to improve the success rate of artificial insemination. |
