Abstract: Capsicum frutescens merupakan komoditas hortikultura dengan nilai ekonomi tinggi, tetapi produktivitasnya mengalami penurunan akibat kualitas benih yang kurang optimal. Benih dapat mengalami deteriorasi, yang menyebabkan penurunan vigor dan daya tumbuh, sehingga diperlukan metode invigorasi untuk meningkatkan kembali performa benih sebelum ditanam. Salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan vigor benih adalah nanopriming menggunakan nanopartikel berbasis karbon, seperti carbon dots (C-dots). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas C-dots hasil sintesis dari sari lemon dalam meningkatkan vigor benih cabai rawit. Penelitian disusun factorial dua factor dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Faktor pertama adalah tingkat vigor awal benih, yaitu benih vigor rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi C-dots, yaitu 0 ml l?¹, 50 ml l?¹, 75 ml l?¹, 100 ml l?¹, dan 125 ml l?¹. Sintesis C-dots menggunakan prekusor sari lemon, dilakukan dengan metode bottom-up menggunakan microwave, kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis, spektrofluorometri, dan spektroskopi FTIR untuk mengidentifikasi sifat optik serta gugus fungsionalnya. Perlakuan nanopriming dilakukan dengan merendam benih cabai dalam larutan C-dots selama 24 jam sesuai perlakuan yang diberikan. Pengujian mutu benih dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh nanopriming C-dots terhadap tolok ukur viabilitas benih yaitu daya berkecambah dan potensi tumbuh maksimum, dan mengevaluasi pengaruh nanopriming C-dots terhadap tolok ukur vigor benih yang meliputi first count germination, kecepatan tumbuh, dan keserempakan tumbuh benih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan nanopriming benih menggunakan C-dots secara signifikan meningkatkan viabilitas dan vigor benih dengan efektivitas paling optimal pada kisaran konsentrasi 75–125 ml L?¹ tergantung tingkat vigor awal benih.
Chili is a horticultural commodity with high economic value, but its productivity has decreased due to low seed quality. Seeds can experiencel deterioration, which leads to a decrease in vigor and growth power, so an invigoration method is needed to improve the performance of the seeds before planting. One method to increase seed vigor is nanopriming using carbon-based nanomaterials, such as carbon dots (C-dots). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of C-dots synthesized from lemon juice in increasing the vigor of chili seeds. The study was prepared using a two-factor factorial with Complete Random Design (RAL). The first factor is the initial vigor level of the seed, namely low, medium, and high vigor seeds. The second factor is the concentration of C-dots, which are 0 ml l?¹, 50 ml l?¹, 75 ml l?¹, 100 ml l?¹, and 125 ml l?¹. The synthesis of C-dots using lemon juice precursors, was carried out by bottom-up method using microwaves, then characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, spectrofluorometry, and FTIR spectroscopy to identify their optical properties and functional clusters. The nanopriming treatment was carried out by soaking chili seeds in a solution of C-dots for 24 hours according to the treatment given. Seed quality testing was carried out to evaluate the effect of C-dots nanopriming on several parameters of seed viability and vigor which are germination percentage and maximum growth potential, and to evaluate the effect of C-dots nanopriming on several parameters of seed vigor which are first count germination, germination rate, and seed germination uniformity. The results showed that seed nanopriming treatment using C-dots significantly increased seed vigor at all observed vigor, with the most optimal effectiveness in the concentration range of 75–125 ml L?¹ depending on seed initial vigor.
