| Abstract: | Ikan nila jantan umumnya menunjukkan tingkat pertumbuhan yang lebih
cepat dibandingkan dengan ikan nila betina. Budidaya nila monoseks umumnya
ditargetkan pada populasi yang seluruhnya berjenis kelamin jantan agar
pertumbuhan lebih efisien. Penggunaan hormon 17a-methyltestosteron sudah
dibatasi sehingga diperlukan bahan alami pengganti salah satunya ekstrak
purwoceng. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis hormon ekstrak
purwoceng dalam pakan terhadap rasio jenis kelamin jantan pada larva ikan nila
berumur 7 hari (Bobot rata-rata 0,011±0,001 g dan panjang rata-rata 0,80±0,043
cm) yang dipelihara selama 60 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan
rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dengan empat kali
ulangan. Lima perlakuan tersebut yaitu kontrol negatif (KN) tanpa penambahan
apapun, kontrol positif (KP) dengan penambahan 17a-methyltestosteron 50 mg/kg
pakan, S1 dengan penambahan ekstrak 0,35 g kg-1, S2 dengan penambahan ekstrak
0,70 g kg-1 pakan dan S3 dengan penambahan ekstrak 1,05 g kg-1 pakan. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan suplementasi ekstrak purwoceng 0,70 g kg-1 pakan dapat
meningkatkan nisbah kelamin, laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan tidak berdampak
buruk terhadap TKH. Namun persentase kelamin jantannya lebih kecil
dibandingkan perlakuan KP. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa ekstrak purwoceng dapat
meningkatkan persentase kelamin jantan ikan nila tetapi tidak lebih efektif
dibandingkan MT Male tilapia generally show a faster growth rate compared to female tilapia. Monosex tilapia farming is generally targeted at an all-male population for more efficient growth. The use of 17a-methyltestosteron hormones has been restricted so that natural substitutes are needed, one of which is purwoceng extract. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of hormones and purwoceng extract in feed on male sex ratio in 7-day-old tilapia larvae (average weight 0.011±0.001g and average length 0.80±0.043 cm) reared for 60 days. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments with four replications. The five treatments were negative control (KN) without any addition, positive control (KP) with the addition of 17a-methyltestosteron 50mg/kg feed, S1 with the addition of extract 0.35 g kg-1 feed, S2 with the addition of extract 0.70 g kg-1feed and S3 with the addition of extract 1.05 g kg-1 feed. The results showed that supplementation of pine extract 0.70 g kg-1 feed can increase the sex ratio, specific growth rate and has no adverse effect on TKH. However, the percentage of S2 males is smaller than the KP treatment. This proves that purwoceng extract can increase the percentage of male tilapia but not more effective than MT. |
