West Kalimantan is one of the provinces in Indonesia that frequently experiences forest and land fires, with a total burned area in 2023 reaching 111,848.43 hectares. Ketapang Regency recorded the largest burned area, amounting to 43,561.91 hectares in the same year. The haze of fires can reach the upper layers of the atmosphere, affecting atmospheric profiles and stability. This study aims to evaluate the WRF model and analyze atmospheric characteristics during land fires in Ketapang Regency from June to August 2023. The evaluation results indicate that the WRF-simulation-1 simulation combination performed well, with low RMSE (1,61 °C and 9,48 %) and MAE (1,26°C and 1,27%) values of air temperature and relative humidity. The simulation results show that a decrease in LBA is associated with an increase in the number of hotspots. Heat release and fire residues also influence the vertical profiles of air temperature, potential temperature, and specific humidity in the fire-affected areas.id
