Mount Gede is one of the active volcanoes in West Java and has the highest number of climbers in Indonesia. This is due to its geographical location near major cities such as Jakarta, Bogor, and Bandung. However, the high number of visitors is not accompanied by adequate regulations. Waste accumulation in Mount Gede will become a significant issue if not addressed promptly. Therefore, it is crucial for the Center for the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (BBTNGGP) to respond to this problem. This study aims to: (1) estimate the amount of waste generated in the Gunung Gede natural tourism area; (2) analyze tourists' perceptions regarding current waste management in the area; (3) Estimate tourists' willingness to pay (WTP) for the implementation of a Pfand-based deposit refund waste management system in the Gunung Gede natural tourism area; (4) Provide strategic recommendations for waste reduction using the Pfand concept. The research methods used in this study include descriptive analysis, the Likert scale, SNI 19- 3964-1994, Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), willingness to pay (WTP) analysis, Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), and Exsimpro software. The results of this study indicate that tourists' perceptions strongly agree with two categories: the presence of waste in Mount Gede and the implementation of the Pfand concept in Mount Gede hiking.
