Abstract: Annona muricata is a member of the Annonaceae family and is native to tropical America. The plant has a long history of traditional medicinal use, with indigenous peoples utilizing various parts of the tree, including the leaves, fruit, and bark, to treat a variety of ailments such as parasitic infections, inflammation, diabetes, and cancer. Soursop leaf tea (Annona muricata L) has been shown to reduce total cholesterol, triglyceride, and blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus with hypertension. It has anticancer effects on lung, liver, prostate, colon, pancreas, and breast cancers. It has been proven that regular consumption of Annona muricata fruit can provide nutrients and essential elements for the human body. Almost all parts of the plant have benefits, for example the leaves function as antibacterial, antiviral, anticonvulsant, antifungal, and cancer.
