Abstract: Rauvolfia serpentina is native to East Asia (India to Indonesia, especially in Java). Included in the Apocynaceae family and is a medicinal plant that has great potential to be developed because it is used as a raw material for medicines, has been widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, it is also used in traditional medicine. Its also known as well-established herbal medicine for anxiety management for several years in Bangladesh. Ayurveda (India) uses pandan pule to treat high blood pressure, insomnia, asthma, acute abdominal pain and labor pains as well as for mental illnesses such as neuropsychiatric disorders, psychosis, etc. Rauvolfia serpentina contains 21 types of alkaloids, including reserpine, rescinnamine, deserpidine, serpentine, yohimbine, and ajmaline, which can be used as treatments for high blood pressure, as tranquilizers, and for circulatory system disorders
