Abstract: Rumput pakchong memiliki kandungan selulosa yang berpotensi sangat besar untuk dijadikan solusi alternatif pembuatan bioetanol.
Pakchong grass has cellulose content that has enormous potential to be used as an alternative solution for making bioethanol. This study aims to evaluate the potential of pakchong grass as a bioethanol raw material that optimizes the pretreatment process with the saccharification and simultaneous fermentation (SSF) method. The results showed the highest ethanol concentration in pretreatment N2L160 produced ethanol of 7.05 g/L after 48 hours of hydrolysis. There were changes in morphology, increased degree of crystallinity, lignin monomer type, and functional groups due to alkali and LHW pretreatment which caused changes in chemical components in pakchong grass. The results in this study indicate that pakchong grass has the potential as an alternative environmentally friendly non- fossil fuel.
