This study compares the Gamma-Gompertz model with the 2022 Employment Mortality Table (TMJ 2022) for calculating net premiums on reversionary annuity life insurance for married couples, assuming independent survival probabilities. Annual benefits are paid to the surviving individual after the other’s death, with annual premium payments continuing as long as both are alive. Net premiums are calculated using the equivalence principle. Simulation results indicate that the Gamma-Gompertz model generally yields lower net premiums than TMJ 2022 model, especially in cases where the husband dies first. The cash flow simulation also shows that selling reversionary annuity without additional costs could lead to insurer losses, making the application of a loading factor crucial for profitability. The Gamma-Gompertz model reaches positive net present value (NPV) faster on products where benefits are paid when the husband dies first, while TMJ-22 is more efficient for benefits paid when the wife dies first. |
