| Abstract: | Aktivitas perikanan cantrang dilakukan dengan berbagai peningkatan upaya
yang menyebabkan tekanan penangkapan ikan meningkat. Akibatnya, Pemerintah
melarang pengoperasian cantrang sehingga memicu konflik dengan nelayan
seperti yang terjadi di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Brondong,
Lamongan. Oleh karenanya, Kebijakan pengelolaan yang tepat sangat diperlukan.
Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuktikan bahwa cantrang tidak merusak jika
dikelola dengan bijak. Metode yang digunakan meliputi analisis deskriptif, CPUE,
analisis spasial, dan SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas
perikanan cantrang dapat dikelola dengan bijak, terbukti dengan peningkatan
CPUE dan produksi ikan selama lima tahun terakhir. Aktivitas penangkapan ikan
dengan cantrang juga dilakukan di perairan yang lebih dalam sehingga kerusakan
ekosistem dasar laut dapat diminimalisir. Adapun rekomendasinya meliputi
pembatasan aktivitas penangkapan dan pengelolaan berbasis ekosistem. Cantrang fishing activities are carried out with various efforts to increase catches, which has led to increased fishing pressure. As a result, the government banned the operation of cantrang, triggering conflicts with fishermen, such as those in Nusantara Fisheries Port Brondong (PPN) Brondong, Lamongan. Therefore, proper management policies are needed. The aim of this study is to demonstrate that cantrang is not destructive when managed wisely. The methods used include descriptive analysis, CPUE, spatial analysis, and SWOT. The results show that cantrang fishing activities can be managed wisely, as evidenced by the improvement in CPUE and fish production over the past five years. Cantrang fishing is also carried out in deeper waters, minimizing damage to the seabed ecosystem. The recommendations include limiting fishing activities and ecosystem-based management. |
