Abstract: Ikan Channa gachua memiliki potensi yang besar, baik sebagai komoditas ikan hias ataupun ikan konsumsi.
Channa gachua has significant potential both as an ornamental fish and as a food source. Conservation efforts are essential to ensure that its potential and utilization can be sustainably enhanced. Domestication can support ongoing conservation efforts. Increasing information on reproduction is one method of advancing domestication, particularly through induction using green light spectrum exposure. This study aims to evaluate the effect of exposure to green light emitting diode (LED) light spectrum on the reproductive performance of pre–domesticated C. gachua fish. The results indicate that the green light spectrum provides the best reproductive response in pre-domesticated C. gachua, with gonadosomatic index (GSI) values 1.39±0.20% and hepatosomatic index (HSI) values 0.89±0.14% being twice as high compared to the control and white LED light spectrum treatment. The green LED light spectrum also increases the total number of chromatophore cells on the dorsal and caudal fins of the fish.
