Abstract: Kepiting bakau jantan dan betina memiliki beberapa perbedaan, jantan memiliki abdomen berbentuk segitiga kecil, sementara yang betina memiliki abdomen lebih lebar. Pertumbuhan kepiting bakau jantan lebih cepat daripada betina karena alokasi energi betina lebih banyak untuk perkembangan gonad dan produksi telur. Adapun pertumbuhan kepiting bakau betina dalam wadah boks lebih tinggi dibandingkan jantan karena sifat pasifnya mengurangi aktivitas gerak, sehingga energi lebih banyak dialokasikan untuk pertumbuhan dan molting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja produksi dan usaha budidaya kepiting soka (Scylla serrata) dalam boks apartemen recirculating acuaculture system (RAS), menggunakan benih jantan, betina, dan jantan-betina dengan rancangan acak lengkap. Kepiting bakau berbobot rata-rata 89,67±1,22 g dipelihara dalam boks apartemen berukuran 30×33×15 cm3 selama 30 hari. Kepiting bakau diberi pakan ikan selar kuning satu kali dalam sehari pada pukul 17.00 WIB sebanyak 5% dari biomassa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin memberikan kinerja produksi yang tidak berbeda nyata, dengan tingkat kelangsungan hidup 76,67% dan persentase molting 33,33% pada kepiting betina. Hasil kinerja usaha budidaya kepiting soka terbaik didapatkan pada jenis kelamin betina dengan R/C ratio 1,73 dengan payback period 2,86 tahun.
Male and female mud crabs have several differences, males have a small triangular abdomen, while females have a wider abdomen. The growth of male mud crabs is faster than that of females due to the greater energy allocation in females for gonad development and egg production. However, the growth of female mud crabs in apartment boxes is higher than that of males because their passive nature reduces movement activity, allowing more energy to be allocated to growth and molting. This study aimed to analyze the production performance and farming viability of soft-shell mangrove crabs in apartment boxes using a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), utilizing male, female, and mixed male-female seeds using a completely randomized design (CRD). Mangrove crabs with an average weight of 89.67 ± 1.22 g were reared 30×33×15 cm3 apartment boxes for 30 days. The crabs were fed yellowtail scad 5% of their biomass daily at 17:00 WIB. The results indicate that gender does not significantly affect production performance, with a survival rate of 76.67% and a molting percentage of 33.33% for female crabs. The best farming performance was achieved with female crabs, with an R/C ratio of 1.73 and a payback period of 2.86 years.
