Zooplankton are the primary consumers of the organic matter produced by phytoplankton, playing a crucial role in the aquatic food chain. This study aims to examine the diversity and structure of zooplankton communities in the waters of Muara Angke and its surroundings in Jakarta Bay. Conducted from August 2023 to January 2024, the study includes data from eight stations to represent different seasonal conditions in these waters. The analysis focuses on abundance, diversity, uniformity, dominance, and principal component analysis (PCA) indices. The environmental parameters analyzed included water quality (temperature, brightness, turbidity, salinity, TSS, pH, DO, nitrate, and phosphate). The zooplankton commonly found in Muara Angke, Jakarta Bay, belong to five classes, Malacostraca (Balanus sp, Calanus sp, Corycaeus sp, Eucalanus sp, Euterpina sp, Nauplius), larva Gastropoda, larva Polychaeta, Ciliata (Eutintinnus sp and Favela sp) and Rotifera (Branchionus and Notholca). The results indicate a medium uniformity index, medium diversity, and high dominance due to the prevalence of a particular species. PCA analysis concluded that turbidity and brightness are the primary factors affecting zooplankton abundance in the waters of Muara Angke, especially for the Gastropod class. |
