Mini purse seine is the dominant fishing gear used by fishers based at the Sungailiat Nusantara Fishing Port (PPN). Intensive use of this fishing gear can potentially affect target fish and trophic levels of fish resources. This research aims to: (1) describe the mini purse seine fishery based at PPN Sungailiat, Bangka; (2) analyze the biologycal parameters target fish caught by mini purse seine; (3) evaluate the impact of mini purse seine fishery on allowable catch size of target fish and trophic levels of the catch. The methods employed in this study were survey and observation. The results of this study indicate that the number of mini purse seine used in the fishing grounds based at the PPN Sungailiat has shown an increasing trend while the catch has decreased. The target fish caught by mini purse seine are predominantly spotted sardinella (Amblygaster sirm), bigeye scad (Selar crumenophthalamus), and yellowstripe scad (Selaroides leptolepis). The growth pattern of spotted sardinella had positive allometric with 96% of the catch was higher than the allowable catch size. In comparison, bigeye scad and yellowstripe scad demonstrated negative allometric growth patterns with 100% and 89.39% of the catch being the allowable catch size, respectively. Low trophic levels of predator groups dominated the catch. Additionally, top predator fish groups were also caught by mini purse seine with 24%, potentially threatening the long-term balance of the marine food web in the location.
