Abstract: Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of recent decades, with deforestation exacerbating the problem by releasing vast amounts of stored carbon into the atmosphere. One potential solution gaining attention is the development of Waqf forests, a unique form of conservation area protected by Islamic Waqf law, which ensures its perpetual protection from deforestation. This study aims to identify effective strategies for scaling up the positive impact of Waqf forests on climate mitigation. By employing the SWOT-ANP method, this research seeks to develop and ensure the best strategies for enhancing the role of Waqf forests in combating climate change. The research findings indicate that the strength of the waqf forest is the most significant aspect in developing strategies for waqf forests toward climate change mitigation in Indonesia. This strength should be prioritized alongside the proposed strategy, which focuses on the socialization of waqf forests. This involves promoting the use of waqf for environmental conservation, expanding public understanding, preventing misconceptions, and fostering collaboration with international green projects and (CSR) initiatives of institutions.
