Kabupaten Mappi, Papua Selatan.
Tebu rawa (Hanguana malayana) is a type of plant that is often found in terrestrial and wetland habitat ecosystems. The community considers that tebu rawa is very disturbing because the growth of tebu rawa can cover the surface of the river and cause obstruction to water transportation. Tebu rawa also makes it impossible for people to cultivate crops on land with a high tebu rawa population. This research aims to obtain information about the potential of tebu rawa as an animal feed ingredient based on its nutrient content and heavy metal content. This research was conducted on November 2023 – February 2024. Tebu rawa samples were taken in the Waldeman River, Mappi Regency, South Papua. Heavy metal analysis was carried out at the Analyses Laboratory, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB. Proximate analysis and Van Soest analysis were carried out at the Feed Science and Technology Laboratory, Department of Nutrition and Feed Technology, Faculty of Animal science, IPB. The proximate analysis carried out included water content, ash content, crude protein, crude fiber and crude The results of the research show that tebu rawa contains more than 18% crude fiber and more than 35% Neutral Detergent Fiber which makes it classified as a high fiber feed ingredient. Tebu rawa can be used and has potential as a feed ingredient for ruminants because due to good nutrient content and low heavy metal content. |
