The conventional papermaking process still uses wood and bleach, which has the potential to damage the environment. Oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) are solid waste with a high cellulose content. Utilizing this biomass to produce paper bags is more environmentally friendly. The method used involves H2SO4 pre- hydrolysis and NaOH delignification to minimize the use of chemicals in the process of removing lignin and maintaining cellulose content during palm pulping. The analysis showed that variations in paper composition influenced the values of wettability, surface free energy, biodegradation, grammage, and density. Palm paper has a dominant affinity for polar test fluids, as indicated by wettability and surface free energy tests. Grammage and density tests provide the ratio between the mass of the paper and the volume of the test liquid. Palm paper degrades more easily than waste paper, as demonstrated by biodegradation tests using the cobb method.-
