The sustainable utilization and management of forests play a crucial role in rehabilitating degraded natural forests. One effective strategy is the implementation of the Indonesian silvikultural system “Tanam Rumpang Tebang Rumpang”, which combines the planting of forestry and agricultural crops such as meranti trees and elephant grass with high productivity. This research aims to gather information on the growth of meranti trees and the productivity of elephant grass planted in gap areas at PT Intracawood Manufacturing. The research results that the diameter and height growth of red meranti in the treatment plots were 0.87 cm and 79.49 cm while in the non-treatment plots were 0.89 cm and 23.52 cm. Yellow meranti has a diameter and height growth in the treatment plot of 0.87 cm and 87.34 cm while in the non-treatment plot is 0.51 cm and 33.95 cm. The productivity of elephant grass in wet, dry, and oven-dry conditions is 231, 163.51, and 152.77 tons/ha/year, respectively. The statistical test results show that the gap area size does not significantly affect the productivity of elephant grass.
