Abstract: Pembentukan kelompok tani bertujuan untuk menjaga kontinuitas pertanian, tetapi seringkali sulit bertahan dalam jangka panjang.
The formation of farmer groups is intended to ensure the continuity of agricultural practices, but often faces challenges in long-term sustainability. Therefore, fostering a sense of belonging among members is crucial. Group cohesiveness can be achieved through interactions within a supportive communication environment. This study aims to describe the individual characteristics of farmers, the communication climate within their groups, and the level of group cohesiveness. Additionally, it seeks to analyze the relationship between these farmer characteristics and the communication climate with the overall cohesiveness of farmer groups in Desa Benteng. A quantitative approach, supplemented by qualitative methods, was employed in this research. The study involved 47 members from three active farmer groups in Desa Benteng. The research findings indicate that a supportive communication climate is significantly correlated with group cohesiveness. In contrast, factors such as age, level of formal education, income level, farming experience, land size, and a defensive communication climate were not found to have a substantial relationship with group cohesiveness among farmer group members in Desa Benteng.
