Weeds are plants that interfere with production crops and compete for nutrients in the soil, thereby reducing production by up to 20%. One of the weeds that affects productivity is the Kentosan weed, which grows from oil palm stalks that are not transported cleanly. Control of kentosan weeds is generally carried out with the herbicide isopropyl amine glyphosate. The final project aims to determine the death interval of kentosan weed with various doses of the herbicide isopropylamine glyphosate 480 g/l + 46% urea. The results showed that a dose of 225 ml of herbicide was more effective than a dose of 150 ml, with the kentosan weed starting to show a brown color change on the 13th day and drying out on the 22nd day after application on block 419. In contrast, the 150 ml dose took longer to reach the drying stage. This study concluded that higher herbicide doses accelerate the death of kentosan weed, which has the potential to increase the efficiency of weed control in oil palm plantations. |
