Green roofs are a viable solution to reduce the increasing volume of runoff in urban areas. As a major component of green roofs, vegetation can have a significant impact on runoff water quantity and quality. This study analyzed the quality and quantity of stormwater and runoff water from 4 green roof systems planted with paris lilies (CC), ornamental beans (AP), rose purslane (PG), and a substrate without vegetation (UV) as a control. Based on 10 rainfall events, the average retention for CC, AP, PG and UV green roofs were 21,1%; 37,6%; 50,3%; dan 52,7%, respectively. Rainfall and green roof runoff were analyzed to determine the value of water quality parameters, namely temperature, TDS, pH, DO, BOD, COD, nitrite, and ammonia. The quality standard used refers to Permenkes No. 2 Tahun 2023 dan PP No. 22 Tahun 2021 Lampiran VI.The test results resulted in the quality status of rainwater based on US-EPA is Moderately Polluted (PP) and Lightly Polluted (Permenkes). Vegetation types can affect the quality of green roof runoff water. The most optimal advanced runoff water quality improvement technologies are zeolite filters and MNBs.
