Abstract: Masyarakat adat Kasepuhan Citorek memiliki tradisi khas menanam padi setahun sekali. Karena padi hanya diproduksi untuk konsumsi rumah tangga, rumah tangga petani melakukan kegiatan non-farm dan off-farm untuk pendapatan rumah tangga. Karakteristik rumah tangga serta pembagian kerja dan pengambilan keputusan antara suami dan istri dapat menentukan dan mengoptimalkan pilihan strategi pendapatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara karakteristik rumah tangga dan menganalisis peran kerja gender dan pengambilan keputusan terhadap strategi nafkah rumah tangga petani di Desa Citorek Timur. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang didukung oleh data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari karakteristik rumah tangga, luas lahan pertanian memengaruhi strategi nanfkah sedangkan usia suami-istri dan jumlah tanggungan tidak. Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan pentingnya peran produktif petani perempuan dan pengambilan keputusan mereka dalam berbagai strategi nafkah rumah tangga.
The indigenous community of Kasepuhan Citorek has a distinctive tradition of planting rice once a year. As rice is produced only for household consumption, farmer-households carry out non-farm and off-farm activities for households’ income. Household characteristics as well as division of labor and decision making among husband and wife may determine and optimize the choice of income strategies, The objective of this research is to identify the relationship between household characteristics and analyze the gender work-roles and decision making to the livelihood strategies of farmer households in the village of East Citorek. The research method uses a quantitative approach supported by qualitative data. The results of the research indicate that of the household characteristics, the size of agricultural land influences livelihood strategies whereas age of husband-wife and number of dependence are not. The research also reveals the importance of women farmers’ productive roles and their decision making in out diverse livelihood strategies.
