Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun Pegagan (Centella asiatica) secara in ovo feeding terhadap organ dalam, organ imunitas, dan morfologi usus halus ayam lokal. Percobaan ini menggunakan 250 telur ayam lokal dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 = telur tanpa injeksi, P1 = telur diinjeksi 0,5 PBS (Saline Buffer Fosfat), P2 = telur diinjeksi 1 mg esktrak Pegagan/0,5 ml PBS, P3 = telur diinjeksi 2 mg ekstrak Pegagan/0,5 ml PBS, P4 = telur diinjeksi 4 mg ekstrak Pegagan/0,5 ml PBS. Peubah yang diamati yaitu persentase bobot organ dalam, organ imunitas, bobot dan panjang relatif saluran pencernaan, dan morfologi jejenum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak tanaman Pegagan berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase organ dalam bobot jantung, empedu, organ imunitas limpa, bursa fabricius, saluran pencernaan duodenum, jejenum, illeum, sekum, dan kedalaman kripta. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian in ovo feeding ekstrak Pegagan menurunkan persentase bobot jantung, empedu, limpa, bursa Fabricius, kedalaman kripta, dan berdampak positif terhadap rasio tinggi vili dan kedalaman kripta jejenum anak ayam umur 7 hari.
This research aimed to evaluate the effect of giving Pegagan leaf (Centella asiatica) extract through in ovo feeding on internal organs, organ immunity, and morphology of the small intestine of sentul chick. This experiment used 250 local chicken eggs in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were P0 = uninjection egg, P1 = injected egg of 0.5 ml PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline), P2= injected egg of 1 mg Pegagan leaf extract/0.5 ml PBS, P3= injected egg of 2 mg Pegagan leaf extract/0.5 ml PBS, P4= injected egg of 4 mg Pegagan leaf extract/0.5 ml PBS. The variables observed were the percentage weight of internal organs, immune organs, weight and relative length of the digestive tract, and jejunum morphology. The results of the study showed that the injection of Pegagan leaf extract had a significant effect on the percentage of organs in the weight of the heart, spleen, bursa of fabricius, digestive tract, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, and crypt depth. Its concluded that injection of Pegagan leaf extract decreases the weight percentage of heart, bile, bursa of Fabricius, small intestine, crypt depth and has positive impact to rasio of villi hight to crypt depth of local chick.
