Kombinasi BAE, pemanasan 180 ? , dan minyak nabati (rami atau jarak) menghasilkan peningkatan ketahanan kayu G. arborea Roxb. paling baik dari serangan jamur pelapuk S. commune. Gmelina wood (Gmelina arborea Roxb.) is a fast-growing wood that is widely used by the community for carpentry, crafts, household furniture, and others. Gmelina wood has a relatively low durability class (IV-V), so the service life of wood products is relatively short and needs to be preserved. Boron compound preservatives have anti-mold and anti-termite properties but are easily washed away. This study aims to evaluate the effect of a combination of boric acid equivalent (BAE) preservatives with heating (60 ?, 150 ?, 180 ?) and vegetable oils (linseed oil and castor oil) on the resistance of gmelina wood against decay fungi (Schizophyllum commune). The interaction of BAE treatment with oil and BAE with temperature had a significant effect on the resistance of gmelina wood from the attack of weathering fungi. The combination of BAE, 180 ? heating, and vegetable oil (linseed or castor) resulted in the best treatment to increase the resistance of G. arborea Roxb. wood from S. commune attack. |
