Abstract: Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) merupakan tanaman tahunan berumur panjang sehingga kemampuan lahan dalam menyediakan unsur hara menjadi suatu kebutuhan yang penting.
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a long-lived annual crop so that the ability of land to provide nutrients becomes an important requirement. Fertilization management in the field must be done optimally to achieve efficient and effective fertilization. Effective fertilization is in accordance with the type of fertilizer, dose, time, application method, as well as more appropriate fertilization monitoring. BMPs are agronomic measures to find the most effective techniques to reduce the difference between actual production and its potential and to minimize the impact on the environment by using intake and production resources efficiently. The objective of this observation is to study oil palm cultivation both technically and managerially and describe the comparison of fertilizer management of commercially managed plantations and plantations managed with BMP practices. From the results of descriptive data analysis and T-Student test analysis, it was concluded that BMP and Standard treatments did not differ significantly in yield or nutrient inputs.
