Abstract: Penggunaan herbisida sintetis menjadi salah satu cara yang efektif dalam mengendalikan gulma, namun penggunaannya yang masif dapat berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Bioherbisida berbasis umbi teki (Cyperus rotundus L.) dapat menjadi alternatif dalam mengendalikan gulma. Umbi teki mengandung senyawa alelopati seperti sesquiterpene berupa a-cyperone dan fenol yang mampu menghambat pertumbuhan tumbuhan lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui respon dari berbagai bentuk dan ukuran bioherbisida butiran berbasis umbi teki dalam menekan perkecambahan biji gulma dan tanaman. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan November 2023 – Januari 2024 di dalam greenhouse Kebun Sadifa, IPB. Percobaan disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor tunggal dan 11 perlakuan, yaitu kontrol tanpa perlakuan (P0), herbisida sintetis Oksifluorfen 480 g ha-1 (P1), bioherbisida tepung teki (P2), bioherbisida butiran bulat sangat kecil (P3), butiran bulat kecil (P4), butiran bulat sedang (P5), butiran bulat besar (P6), butiran silinder sangat kecil (P7), butiran silinder kecil (P8), butiran silinder sedang (P9), dan butiran silinder besar (P10). Setiap perlakuan diujikan pada empat tanaman uji, yaitu Biden pilosa dan Cynodon dactylon (gulma), serta mentimun dan padi (tanaman). Hasil percobaan menunjukkan aplikasi bioherbisida berbasis umbi teki memberikan pengaruh nyata pada beberapa parameter perkecambahan. Semakin kecil ukuran butiran bioherbisida, semakin tinggi tingkat penghambatan perkecambahan. Pada penelitian ini bioherbisida butiran ukuran sangat kecil memiliki efektivitas lebih tinggi dalam menekan persentase perkecambahan, menurunkan kecepatan tumbuh, meningkatkan kecambah abnormal, serta menghambat pertumbuhan plumula dan radikula.
The use of synthetic herbicides is one of the effective ways of controlling weeds, but their massive use can negatively impact the environment. Bioherbicide made from purple nutsedge's tuber (Cyperus rotundus L.) can be an alternative in weed control. Purple nutsedge's tuber contains allelopathy compounds such as sesquiterpene in the form of a-cyperone and phenols that can inhibit the growth of other plants. This study aims to observe the response of various shapes and sizes of granule bioherbicides made from purple nutsedge's tuber in suppressing the germination of weed seeds and plants. This study was conducted in November 2023 – January 2024 at Sadifa Farm, IPB. The research used Complete Randomized Design (CDR) with one factor and 11 treatments, namely control without treatment (P0), synthetic herbicide Oxyfluorfen 480 g ha-1 (P1), purple nutsedge's tuber powder bioherbicide (P2), very small round granule bioherbicide (P3), small round granule (P4), medium round granule (P5), big round granule (P6), very small cylindrical granule (P7), small cylindrical granule (P8), medium cylindrical granule (P9), and big cylindrical granule (P10). Each treatment was tested on four test plants, Biden pilosa and Cynodon dactylon (weeds), as well as cucumber and rice (crops). The experimental results showed that the application of purple nutsedge's tuber-based bioherbicides exerts a noticeable influence on several germination parameters. The smaller the size of the bioherbicide granules, the higher the germination inhibition rate. In this study, very small-shaped bioherbicide granules had higher effectiveness in suppressing the percentage of seed sprouts, reducing growth speed, increasing abnormal sprouts, and inhibiting the growth of plumula and radicles.
