| Abstract: | Potensi penyimpanan biomassa yang besar di hutan alam Desa Rantau Prapat, Kecamatan Embaloh Hulu, Kalimantan Barat terancam hilang akibat kerusakan oleh berbagai aktivitas manusia. Various human activities threaten this significant biomass storage potential in the natural forests of Rantau Prapat Village, Embaloh Hulu District, West Kalimantan. This research develops the best biomass allometric model to estimate biomass potential and map the distribution of above-ground standing biomass across Rantau Prapat Village. By conducting regression analysis between field data (biomass values) and NDVI values from Landsat 8 Image data, the study formulates a quadratic model with the equation "Ln(Y) = 2,378 + 15,368(NDVI)²". The model demonstrates strong performance, with an R² value of 92%, an s value of 0,206, and an RMSE of 0,198. The village's biomass distribution is predominantly in the medium biomass class (214 – 379 tonnes/ha), covering 8,861.712 hectares or 37.413% of the area. The average biomass potential in the village reaches 330 tonnes/ha. |
