Abstract: | Budidaya tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) Tidak terlepas dari
Cultivation of oil palm plants (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is inseparable from various disturbances, one of which is pest disturbance. Pests are able to damage oil palm plants starting from the nursery stage to producing plants, resulting in increased maintenance and production costs that must be incurred to restore plant conditions. One of the pests that often attack oil palm plants is rats (Rattus tiomanicus). The usual way of controlling rat pests in oil palm plantations is by spreading poisonous anticoagulant rodenticide bait around the trunk of the oil palm plant. In the practice of controlling rat pests, the author found that the workers on duty experienced a lot of direct contact with antikaogulan rodenticide rat poison, and the author found injuries caused by thorns of palm fronds stuck in the feet in the oil palm immature plants (TBM) area. Based on this, the author created a simple tool that aims to reduce direct contact between workers and rat poison, and minimize injuries caused by palm frond thorns. After the author created a simple tool, the author found that the use of the tool could increase time efficiency in applying antikaogulan rodenticide rat poison. |
