| Abstract: | Limbah cair rumah potong ayam memiliki kandungan bahan organik yang
tinggi.
karakteristik limbah cair rumah potong ayam, mengetahui tingkat efisiensi
Chicken slaughterhouse wastewater has a high organic matter content. The organic matter content present in chicken slaughterhouse wastewater is BOD and COD. An alternative treatment that can be done to reduce BOD and COD values in liquid waste is a combination of filtration, aeration, and phytoremediation. This study aims to identify the characteristics of chicken slaughterhouse liquid waste, determine the efficiency level of BOD and COD reduction, and analyze the response of aquatic plants. The experimental method combines filtration, aeration, and aquatic plant treatments. The aquatic plants used are water spinach, nile cabbage and kariba weed. The characteristics of chicken slaughterhouse liquid waste contain COD levels of 1243.21 and BOD values of 942.55 mg/L. The best efficiency reduction was found in the aeration treatment, with a percentage reduction in COD of 79.22% and BOD of 82.87%. Based on the pollutant index value analysis, the aeration treatment also proved to be efficient with a good condition category and pH that is in accordance with quality standards. The most resistant plants are water spinach plants. |
