This research was aimed to analyze the effects of lemuru fish oil supplementation with vitamin E or selenium on the hematological profile of local male sheep. This research used 21 male sheep aged 9-12 months with an average body weight of 25 ±2.58 kg. The study employed a randomized block design (RBD) with 3 treatments and 7 replicates. The treatments consisted of PL = diet containing 6% lemuru fish oil, PE = PL + 500 IU vitamin E, PSE = PL + 0.5 ppm selenium. Observed variables included nutrient consumption, hematocrit, erythrocyte count, hemoglobin, MCV, MCHC, leukocyte count, leukocyte differentiation, and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and significantly different treatments were further tested with Duncan's test using SPSS 25. The results showed no significant differences (P>0,05) in the count of erythrocytes, leukocytes, and their derivatives, however, there was a significant difference (P<0,05) in the percentage of monocytes in the blood. The conclusion of this study is that supplementation with vitamin E or selenium in diets containing lemuru fish oil can reduce the percentage of monocytes, thereby decreasing inflammation levels in male sheep.
