Pengaruh Cara Pangkas Terhadap Perubahan Jumlah dan Tinggi Tunas Air Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner)

Abstract

HEGAR MUNGGARAN HERDIAS. Pengaruh Cara Pangkas Terhadap Perubahan Jumlah dan Tinggi Tunas Air Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A.Froehner). Dibimbing oleh EDI WIRAGUNA.

Wiwil Kasar yaitu kegiatan memangkas tunas air. Tunas air dipangkas dengan cara dicabut dengan tangan atau dengan gunting pangkas. Sebaiknya tunas air dicabut dengan tangan daripada dengan gunting pangkas karena akan menumbuhkan tunas air baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pertumbuhan tunas air pada pohon yang tunas airnya dicabut atau yang dipangkas dengan gunting pangkas. Setiap perlakuan diambil contoh 5 pohon di 3 blok yang berbeda sehingga total sampelnya 30 pohon. Pertumbuhan tunas air yang diamati ialah jumlah tunas air, tinggi tunas air, perubahan jumlah tunas air, dan perubahan tinggi tunas air. Sampel diamati setiap 2 minggu, yaitu pada 2 MSP, 4 MSP, dan 6 MSP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada minggu ke 2 setelah pemangkasan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dari kedua perlakuan. Hasil yang tidak signifikan berlanjut hingga minggu ke 6. Tidak ada hasil yang signifikan dari perubahan jumlah maupun tinggi tunas air. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tunas air yang dicabut dan yang dipangkas tidak menunjukkan perbedaan pertumbuhan tunas air.

Wiwil Kasar is shoots pruning activity. Shoots are pruned by pulling it out by hand or with pruning shears. Shoots should be pulled by hand than by pruning shears because it can grow more shoots. This study aim to know the differences of shoots growth from shoots that pulled by hand or shoots that pruned by pruning shears on coffe tree. A total of 30 sample from 5 tree examples in 3 different plantation block. Growth of shoots that observed are shoots amount, shoots height, change of amount of the shoots, and change of height of the shoots. Shoots growth are observed every 2 week, i.e at 2 week after pruning, 4 week after pruning, and 6 week after pruning. The result shows that after 2 week there is insignificant different from 2 treatments. Insignificant results remain until 6 week after pruning. Only insignificant result from changes of amount of the shoots or height of the shoots. This study show pulling shoots by hand and pruning shoots by pruning shears give no shoots growth influence
