Abstract: Keanekaragaman ikan hias mencapai 4.552 spesies dari total 32.400 spesies di dunia menjadi bukti nyata potensi besar sumber daya perikanan.
The diversity of ornamental fish reaching 4,552 species out of a total of 32,400 species in the world is clear evidence of the great potential of fisheries resources. One ornamental fish commodity that is in demand is guppy fish Poecilia reticulata. The research aims to determine the effect of giving honey for genital direction in guppy fish and determine the optimal dose by soaking the parent guppy fish. The research method used honey with three different doses, namely treatment A of 20 mL, treatment B of 40 mL and treatment C of 60 mL. Research showed that treatment C produced the highest percentage of males at 83%, while the highest survival of female broodstock and larvae was found in the control treatment, at 100% and 91%. The water quality during the research remained stable and met the standards for keeping guppies. Content chrysin in honey it is thought to play a role Aromatase inhibitor, inhibits the conversion of testosterone to estradiol thereby increasing the formation of male genitalia in fish. This research provides new insights for the development of guppy fish cultivation in Indonesia.
