| Abstract: | Padi merupakan tanaman pangan utama di Indonesia. Salah satu faktor kritis
dalam produksi padi yaitu perkecambahan benih. Benih padi memiliki periode after
ripening, artinya benih membutuhkan waktu penyimpanan kering hingga dapat
berkecambah. Benih yang disimpan lama juga dapat mengalami kemunduran mutu.
Penggunaan plasma activated fine bubble water (PAFBW) diharapkan dapat
membantu mempercepat perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan benih padi. PAFBW
merupakan air yang mengandung bubbles dengan diameter 100-200 nm yang
diaktifkan dengan plasma sehingga menghasilkan kandungan Reactive Oxygen
Spesies Nitrogen (RONS). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengaplikasikan
PAFBW dengan berbagai tingkat pH dan waktu perendaman terhadap benih padi
yang memiliki umur simpan 2 bulan dan 6 bulan. Benih yang digunakan ialah
varietas Inpari 32. Perlakuan perendaman yang digunakan yaitu aquades (kontrol),
PAW, dan PAFBW pada tingkat pH 6, pH 4, dan pH 3. Perkecambahan dilakukan
dengan metode UKDdp (uji kertas digulung didirikan di dalam plastik) kemudian
diamati hingga 15 HST. Parameter yang diamati adalah potensi tumbuh maksimum
(PTM), daya berkecambah (DB), indeks vigor (IV), intensitas dormansi (ID), ratarata panjang tunas dan rata-rata panjang akar. Rancangan percobaan yang
digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa perendaman menggunakan PAFBW dengan tingkat pH
tertentu dapat menghasilkan nilai tertinggi pada PTM, DB, IV, dan terendah pada
nilai ID. Perendaman menggunakan PAFBW juga dapat meningkatkan rata-rata
panjang tunas dan panjang akar. Rice is the main food crop in Indonesia. One of the critical factors in rice production is seed germination. Rice seeds have an after ripening period, meaning that the seeds need dry storage time to germinate. Seeds that are stored for a long time can also experience quality deterioration. The use of plasma activated fine bubble water (PAFBW) is expected to help accelerate the germination and growth of rice seeds. PAFBW is water containing bubbles with a diameter of 100-200 nm that is activated with plasma to produce Reactive Oxygen Species Nitrogen (RONS) content. The purpose of this study was to apply PAFBW with various pH levels and soaking times to rice seeds that have a shelf life of 2 months and 6 months. The soaking treatments used were distilled water (control), PAW, and PAFBW at pH 6, pH 4, and pH 3 levels. Germination was conducted using the UKDdp method (rolled paper test established in plastic) then observed until 15 HST. Parameters observed were maximum growth potential (PTM), germination power (DB), vigor index (IV), dormancy intensity (ID), average shoot length and average root length. The experimental design used was a factorial complete randomized design (CRD). The results showed that soaking using PAFBW with a certain pH level can produce the highest value of PTM, DB, IV, and the lowest value of ID. Soaking using PAFBW can also increase the average shoot length and root length. |
