Rupat Island, which is located to the east of Sumatra, has the potential for marine sand deposits with a silica content of >90%. The waters of Rupat Island have a relatively west-east direction, which indicates that the waters of the eastern part of Rupat Island also have the potential for marine sand deposits. Further investigations need to be carried out using seismic reflection methods. Data processing to obtain reflection coefficient values and two-dimensional profiles will provide information regarding sediment layers and characteristics. The seismic data processing process goes through two stages, namely the data extraction stage using Seisee software and the data visualization stage using Matlab software. The results of reflection seismic signal processing using Matlab software obtained a 2D profile of the seabed surface and sub-bottom layer. The three lines show relatively flat bottom topography with a seabed depth of around 7 to 10 m. The surface sediment reflection coefficient value obtained from modeling is around 0.292 – 0.374 and can be estimated as the reflection coefficient value for very fine sand sediments. If correlated with the theoretical reflection coefficient value, the surface sediment type in East Rupat Waters is in the form of very coarse silt to fine sand
