Abstract: Mucuna bracteata merupakan salah satu legume cover crop yang digunakan dalam perkebunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya berkecambah dan respon pertumbuhan Mucuna bracteata yang diberikan pematahan dormansi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di kebun Bakau Estate, Desa Balaimea, Kecamatan Pamukan Utara, Kabupaten Kotabaru, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan pada 15 Januari sampai 15 Mei 2024. Penelitian disusun dalam rancangan acak kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) dengan satu faktor yaitu pematahan dormansi (skarifikasi pada biji, skarifikasi dan perendaman air hangat selama 8 jam dengan suhu 35 ºC, perendaman air panas suhu 80 ºC selama 40 menit, dan perendaman larutan H2SO4 3,5% selama 10 menit). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pemberian perlakuan skarifikasi pada biji memiliki nilai terbaik pada parameter daya berkecambah (%), tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), bobot basah daun dan akar (g) serta bobot kering daun dan akar (g) kecuali pada kadar air biji (%) jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya.
This research aims to determine the effect of dormancy breaking on Mucuna bracteata (Mb). The research was conducted in Bakau Estate, Balaimea Village, North Pamukan District, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province from January 15 to May 15, 2024. The research was arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with one factor, namely dormancy breaking (scarification on seeds, scarification and soaking in warm water for 8 hours at 35 ºC, soaking in hot water at 80 ºC for 40 minutes, and soaking in 3.5% H2SO4 solution for 10 minutes). The results of data analysis showed that scarification treatment of seeds had the best value on the parameters of germination (%), plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), wet weight of leaves and roots (g) and dry weight of leaves and roots (g) except for seed moisture content (%) when compared with other treatments.
