Significant and costly wood damage is often caused by termite infestation. This has led to control termites colonization using secondary metabolite compounds from plant extracts. Ironwood is known as wood that has strong resistance to termite attack, so it is thought to have compounds that have anti-moth activity. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the antimite activity using etanol extract of ironwood in various accessions in Kalimantan. The etanol extraction of ulin wood was carried out by maceration method using EtOH solvent, while the no-choice method was carried out to determine the termite activity using Cryptotermes cynocephalus termites. The results showed that the highest anti-termite activity was possessed by accession XX.B.231 (10.000 ppm, 15.000 ppm, and 25.000 ppm) with a mortality value of 97% and with an LD50 lower value of 0,203 mg/gBB. Thus, the type of accession is the factor that most influences the anti-termite activity. |
