Produk yang dipilih untuk penjernih air adalah dengan KOH 20% dan H2SO4 8 M. Koagulan kalium alumunium sulfat efektif digunakan untuk menjernihkan air dengan nilai efektivitas 70,9% pada dosis 40 ppm Aluminum is the basic material for all aircraft manufacturing components in addition to sensors and communication devices because of its lightness, corrosion resistance, and conductivity. Aluminum waste from the production process is included in the category of hazardous and toxic materials. The amount of aluminum waste produced every month is 90,000 kg so that processing is needed so as not to pollute the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of potassium aluminum sulfate coagulant (KAl(SO4)2.12H2O) derived from aluminum waste from production for clean water treatment. The research method used is the manufacture of potassium aluminum sulfate which includes dissolution of aluminum with KOH and precipitation of filtrate with H2SO4, jartest to compare with aluminum sulfate and Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC), and effectiveness test. The product selected for water purification was with 20% KOH and 8 M H2SO4. Potassium aluminum sulfate coagulant is effectively used to purify water with an effectiveness value of 70.9% at a dose of 40 ppm |
