Abstract: Kehadiran gulma memberikan dampak negatif.
Weeds have a negative impact on crop. Appropriate weed control is determined on the base of weed dominance and quantity in oil palm plantations. The research conducted aims to determine whether there is an interaction of weed diversity in several land conditions at various depths and test the efficacy of herbicides. Vegetation and seed bank analysis were conducted in areas with different land elevations. The land elevation tested was at 8 masl (inundation), 12 masl (normal) and 21 masl (terrace). Soil depth tested was 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm and 20-30 cm. Herbicides used were glyphosate brand A and brand B. The results showed that based on statistical tests there was an interaction between the three land conditions with the three soil depths. The application of brand A and brand B herbicides had a not significant difference on weed weight reduction. In general, brand B herbicides have a better effect on reducing the weight of desirable weeds, while brand A herbicides have a better effect on reducing the weight of acceptable and undesirable weeds.
