Klorofil-a berkorelasi kuat positif dengan nitrogen.
Oceanographic physico-chemical parameter measurements were conducted during Banggai Upwelling Dynamic and Ecosystem Experiment (BUDEE) Cruise September 2022 in Banggai Waters. Banggai Waters is an area influenced by the Indonesian Throughflow (ITF) and the presence of upwelling makes these waters receives important nutrient with high fisheries potential. This study aims to analyze nutrient and chlorophyll-a profiles in Banggai Waters. Nitrogen concentration ranged from 0,006-0,095 ppm with the highest average of 0,054 ppm in station (ST) 13, phosphate ranged from 0,018-0,279 ppm with the highest average of 0,147 ppm in ST 45, chlorophyll-a ranged from 0,134-0,824 mg/m3 with the highest average of 0,369 mg/m3 in ST 7. Redfield ratio was below 16:1 indicated that nitrogen was the limiting factor to support primary productivity in Banggai Waters. Nutrient Depleted Layer (NDL) was thinner, while Nutrient Repleted Layer (NRL) was thicker in ST 7 and ST 13 (vice versa for ST 45 and ST 55). Chlorophyll-a was strongly positively correlated with nitrogen. ST 7 and ST 13 were upwelling areas, while ST 45 and ST 55 were areas that are not affected by upwelling directly.
