| Abstract: | Penelitian berfokus pada studi potensi ekowisata burung di Pulau
Mendanau, Belitung. Pulau ini merupakan rumah bagi beragam jenis burung untuk berbagai tujuan, seperti mendukung mata pencaharian atau etno-ornithologi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi potensi sumberdaya burung di pulau tersebut, mengembangkan rencana komprehensif ekowisata burung di Pulau Belitung, dan menggali pengetahuan masyarakat tentang burung melalui etno-ornitologi. Data habitat burung dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung, sedangkan data burung dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode IPA. Burung yang ditemukan teridentifikasi 66 spesies dan 12 sub ordo yang berada di pulau tersebut, yang termasuk dalam 29 famili. Tipe habitat yang dijumpai pada saat pengamatan yaitu hutan campuran, pantai, rawa, lapangan terbuka, dan mangrove. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang burung mencakup pentingnya burung sebagai fenomena alam, manfaat ekonomi, makanan, hewan peliharaan, dan simbol budaya. Penelitian ini merancang kegiatan program ekowisata untuk pendidikan pengamatan burung dan konservasi kehidupan burung sebagai bagian dari inisiatif ekowisata burung. This research focuses on studying the potential for bird ecotourism on Mendanau Island, Belitung. The island is home to a variety of bird species for various purposes, such as supporting livelihoods or ethno-ornithology. This study aims to identify potential birdwatching activities on the island, develop a comprehensive plan for bird ecotourism on Belitung Island, and explore community knowledge about birds through ethno-ornithology. Bird habitat data was collected through direct observation, while bird data was collected using the IPA method. 66 species and 12 sub-orders of birds were identified on the island, belonging to 29 families. Habitat types encountered during observation were mixed forest, beach, swamp, open field and mangrove. Community knowledge about birds includes their importance as natural phenomena, economic benefits, food, pets, and cultural symbols. This study designed ecotourism program activities for birdwatching education and birdlife conservation as part of an avian ecotourism initiative. |
